Quality standards

Since our origins, in Cementos and Concretos Moctezuma, we have made efforts to exceed the quality standards.

Our company is formed by two companies: Cementos Moctezuma® and Concretos Moctezuma®.

Each has its own history, but in both we have been producing and commercializing cement and concrete of the best quality, which has even exceeded the official guidelines and international standards.

We are constantly updating and applying the best use of new technologies to offer a better service to our clients. We invite you to know the evolution that we have had in both companies.

Cements

A story of success that we started in 1943 in Jiutepec, Morelos, and continues being part of a New Mexico under Construction.

For over 70 years

At Cementos Moctezuma® we have been devoted to producing and providing the construction market with the best cement, exceeding official Mexican and international quality standards.

 
1943

Mexican businessmen built the first plant of Cementos Moctezuma® in Jiutepec, Morelos; with which we started a story of business success, so much that today it is still an example of the construction history of Mexico.

1997

We started operations in Tepetzingo, Morelos Plant, with a capacity of 1.25 million tons a year. Thanks to its technology and state-of-the-art equipment, we have positioned it among the most advanced and with less energy consumption cement plants in the world.

2000

We opened the second line of the Tepetzingo, Morelos plant, increasing its production capacity to 2.5 million tons a year.

2003

In Tepetzingo Plant we got the certifications ISO 9001, concerning quality; ISO 14001, concerning the environment; and OHSAS 18001, concerning health, safety, and security in the work place; it was the first plant of the sector in the world to receive the triple certification at once.

2004

We opened the Cerritos, San Luis Potosi plant, with a production capacity of 1.3 million tons a year, which allowed us with Cementos Moctezuma® to provide service more promptly and efficiently to the Northern and Bajío markets of the country.

2005

Our Cementos Moctezuma® division is certified in Integral Quality Systems, Environment, Health and Safety in the work place with Social Responsibility.

2006

In March 2006, we opened the second production line of the Cerritos, San Luis Potosi. With this additional line, the plant reached a production capacity of 2.6 million tons a year.

2010

We started operations in the Apazapan, Veracruz Plant, with a capacity of 1.3 million tons a year. With this plant, and thanks to its privileged location, the Southeast and Yucatan peninsula markets are serviced.

2011

The production capacity of Cementos Moctezuma® with its three production plants was of over 6 million tons a year, and, together with their privileged locations, allowed us to service 93% of the country; as well as to hold 14% of the shares in the national market.

2013

We celebrated 70 years of operations of Cementos Moctezuma®, which, together with the investment of over 1,100 million dollars in Mexico, allowed us to offer a high quality product, supported with state-of-the-art technology the three producing plants have, as well as serving all the segments of the market.

2014

After 10 years, we renewed the image of the main product of Cementos Moctezuma®: packed cement, which is inspired in Mexican pre-Hispanic motives:

  • Quetzalcóatl (the feathered serpent) for the CPC 30 in all its types
  • Royal eagle (symbol of courage and power) for the Mortar
  • Coyote (god of war) for the White Cement
2017

In January 2017,we started operations of the second Line of Production in the Apazapan, Veracruz Plant, which building required an investment of over 150 million dollars. It now has an installed capacity of almost 3 million tons of cement per year.

 

Concretes

A story of success that started in 1977, and that now has more than 30 concrete plants and 370 mixing units nationwide.

 
1977

Facing the urgent needs of the construction industry, Mexican businessmen got together to create Latinoamericana de Concretos, S. A. de C. V. on April 11, 1977, with the clear objective of supplying premix concrete to the metropolitan area of Mexico City.

1978

We formally begin the operations of Latin American Concrete. A pumping service for 10 m3 mixing units was incorporated. We achieved to be positioned as a technological innovative company with high quality and service standards for our clients.

1982

Latinoamericana de Concretos was incorporated to Cementos Moctezuma®, making up the beginning of the now renowned Corporacion Moctezuma®.

1994

We consolidate the Investor group of Cementos Moctezuma®, which provided technology and excellence in commercial management and vision.

2000

We got the ISO 9000 Quality Assurance Standards certification with Latinoamericana de Concretos, achieving to be the first concrete company in Mexico to have this certification in all of its plants of the metropolitan area of Mexico City.

2001

Under a Continuous Improvement program, on June 25, the transition from the certification ISO 9002 to ISO 9001:2000 was made. Additionally, we created the floors and patterns division with the objective of delivering a finished and high quality concrete hydraulic floor.

2003

In the month of July, we reached with Latinoamericana de Concretos a production record, closing the year with over a million cubic meters sold.

2005

In May 2005, we accredited the Quality Control Laboratory of the company with the standard ISO 17025:2005, before the EMA (Mexican Entity of Certifications). The scope of this accreditation is made up of 7 tests to fresh and hardened concrete.

2006

With the increasing reputation of Corporacion Moctezuma®, Concretos Moctezuma® is born to service the national market. Latinoamericana de Concretos and Concretos Moctezuma® started working together in the design of concrete mixes.

2007

We launched with Latinoamericana de Concretos and Concretos Moctezuma® a bold graphic concept for its Mixer Units that is made up of designs that highlight Mexican culture and values. Additionally, women operators were hired; achieving with this another innovation in the market.

2009

On the month of September, Latinoamericana de Concretos took the name of Concretos Moctezuma® in the metropolitan area of Mexico City, joining the great commercial success of the brand it already had in the rest of the national market.

2013

We celebrated 35 years of life of Concretos Moctezuma® and the most modern and important ready-mixed concrete production plant of the country and Latin America started operations with an initial capacity of 200 cubic meters per hour.

2014

With Concretos Moctezuma® we made our greatest supply ever. We used two base plants (Central Plant and Eulalia Guzmán Plant), five support plants in Mexico City, as well as 101 mixer units, two stationary pumps, and three telescopic pumps, it reached 5,681 m3 in 23 hours as the time limit for the development MIYANA.

2015

As part of Cementos Moctezuma® strengthening, in May 2015 we achieved the accreditation of Calibration Laboratory at the scope of 98.78kN to 882.60kN before the “EMA” (Entidad Mexicana de Acreditación, A.C.).

2018

We completed 41 years producing and offering to the construction industry through Concretos Moctezuma® the best ready-mix concrete, exceeding official standards and international quality standards.
